Bridging the language and business culture gap

Marketing and public relations (PR) used together are potent and effective methods of creating success for companies around the world. Increasingly, both publicity and marketing materials are being required to promote new technologies, products and services to customers in other parts of the globe where different languages and business cultures dominate the local market.

These problems with effective communications between differing cultures are experienced in the extreme when companies located in Europe or North America wish to engage with organisations and markets located in Asia. The same is true when companies situated in Asia wish to converse with companies and market sectors in the west.

Some business people, in both markets, believe the only difference between east and west is the language. However, experience will prove that business cultures also differ widely and that a clear understanding of the other person’s business culture is as essential for effective business communications and marketing.

With many years of international publicity and marketing experience, and now with some five years of experience working in China, Ceejay is well placed to assist both western and Chinese companies with their publicity and marketing strategies. We formulate strategies and materials in the company’s own language and then once approved we translate into the customer’s language for marketing and publicity purposes.
